Dermal fillers in London

Restore a more youthful appearance or slow down the signs of ageing with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are a type of cosmetic treatment used to enhance facial features or reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They are commonly used by individuals seeking to restore volume to specific areas of their face, such as the cheeks, lips, or nasolabial folds (lines running from the nose to the mouth).

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally found in our bodies, especially in our skin and joints. It’s like a special type of gel that helps keep our skin hydrated, plump, and smooth. However, as we grow older, our bodies produce less of this substance, which can lead to sagging skin and wrinkles.

Dermal fillers are a way to bring back some of that hyaluronic acid into our skin. During the treatment, a trained healthcare professional carefully injects a small amount of the filler into specific areas of the face using a very thin needle. The filler then adds volume to those areas, making the skin appear fuller and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. It’s important to note that hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are temporary and gradually break down naturally over time.

The effects typically last for several months, but they can vary depending on factors such as the individual’s metabolism, the specific product used, and the area treated.

In summary, hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are a cosmetic treatment that helps restore volume to the face and reduce the appearance of wrinkles by injecting a gel-like substance called hyaluronic acid into specific areas. It’s a temporary solution that can help enhance facial features and provide a more youthful appearance.

Yes, the results of dermal filler injections are usually instant. You will see the desired improvement in the treated area immediately after the procedure. However, it may take a few days for the swelling to go down and for the final results to be visible.

Dermal fillers are generally considered to be safe when injected by a qualified medical professional. However, like any procedure, there are some risks associated with the procedure, such as infection, bruising, and swelling.

If you are considering dermal filler injections, it is important to talk to a qualified medical professional about the risks and benefits of the procedure. You should also make sure to choose a reputable clinic that uses high-quality fillers and sterile needles.

At Dr Kate Aesthetics we carefully assess your suitability for treatment and examine and assess your face in detail. We will formulate a detailed plan for your dermal filler treatment. We will use specific fillers which have different characteristics. The right filler for the particular areas of your face will be used in very specific volumes. These will be injected in very specific areas of your face to give precise and natural-looking results.

We are able to produce very natural-looking results at Dr. Kate Aesthetics. We are able to do this by paying close attention to the type of filler we use, the filler characteristics, the volumes used, and the precise administration using different advanced techniques.

This is dependent on the individual and sometimes needs to be done gradually over 2 or 3 treatments but as a rough guide:

  • Cheeks/mid face – 2 syringes
  • Nose to mouth lines – 1-2 syringes
  • Marionettes – 1 syringe
  • Chin 1-2 syringes
  • Jaw line 2-3 syringes
  • Lips first time – 1 syringe
  • Maintenance 0.7mls to 1 syringe
  • Temples 1-2 syringes (please note not more than 1 syringe will be done in one sitting)
  • Tear troughs 1-2 syringes (please note not more than 1 syringe will be done in one sitting)
  • Full face rejuvenation – 5 to 8 syringes

Every 4 to 6 weeks until the desired result is achieved. Please note the treatment takes around 4 to 6 weeks for the filler to settle and to see the final results. Maintenance treatments are normally much smaller treatments and would be done every 6 to 18 months depending on the individual.

Yes, dermal fillers can be removed. This is usually done by injecting an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which breaks down the filler. Hyaluronidase is a prescription-only medication and needs to be prescribed by a doctor who has assessed the patient. The removal process is usually quick and painless, but it may take several sessions to completely remove the filler.

There is a small chance that dermal fillers can move over time. This is what we refer to as migration. This is more likely to happen if the filler is injected too superficially if too much dermal filler is injected into one area or if the wrong consistency of filler is used for a particular area. However, the majority of dermal fillers will stay in place for the intended duration.

Dr. Kate Aesthetics in London ensures a safe and effective procedure without any complications or issues.

The duration of dermal fillers varies depending on the type of filler used and the location of the injection. In general, hyaluronic acid fillers (the most common type of dermal filler) used at Dr. Kate Aesthetics, last for 6 to 18 months.
